BIOGRAPHY
At just 29 years old, saxophonist Jacopo Taddei is at the forefront of the international classical music scene. Described as a “sax hero” by Corriere della Sera, he is highly regarded for his brilliant technique, combined with delicacy and exuberance. Jacopo rose to prominence after winning the prestigious Claudio Abbado Prize and the Milan Conservatory Prize in 2015.
Born in Portoferraio, on the Island of Elba, in 1996, he began his musical studies at the age of eight at the Filarmonica di Portoferraio. At eleven, he entered the Conservatorio Mascagni in Livorno under the guidance of V. Barbieri. At sixteen, he graduated with full marks and honors under F. Mondelci at the Conservatorio Rossini in Pesaro. At nineteen, he graduated Magna Cum Laude with honors from the Conservatorio Verdi in Milan, under M.Marzi.
He has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as I Solisti di Mosca, Orchestra UniMi, Divertimento Ensemble, and has collaborated with Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala, Orchestra dell’Accademia di Santa Cecilia, Orchestra de I Pomeriggi Musicali, and RomaTre Orchestra. He has performed under the direction of renowned conductors, including Yuri Bashmet, Riccardo Chailly, Antonio Pappano, Daniele Gatti, Yoichi Sugiyama, Daniel Smith, Bruno Aprea, Francesco Gesualdi, Viktoria Vitrenko, Timothy Brock, Felix Korobov, Igor Dronov, William Barkhymer, and Koen Kessels.
